Democracies Final Bastion

I Apologise in advance for what is surely to be a bit of a rant…

With Freedom Convoy protests still occupying the grounds of Parliament here in New Zealand, society is reeling with emotion, a hardening of sides, a great division one might say… In the last few day locals and the public have perceived actions by Police as a weak and unorganised effort, causing many to demand a greater police presence and clarity around their plans to end the standoff.

Although More Moderate Leadership seems to have appeared among the Protesters, in the early days of the occupation, many anti-Semitic, fascist and anti-vaccine messages where being spread, threats of public executions, to political representatives and to media personnel. Some cafes and restaurants reported abuse to their staff for complying with government mandates, and reports of school children being harassed for wearing masks have circulated.

These Moderate Leaders have begun to change the tone of the protest and this is desperately needed, Protest Leadership must eliminate the extremist sections of the movement, to ensure the longevity of the cause and to continue dialogue and pressure after the occupation ends.

Thou there is much support for a discussion around Mandates and when they are going to end, many Kiwis who support the cause cannot and will not accept the behaviour of the protesters, This isn’t some party? where you can drink and smoke drugs sitting around like hippies, this is a protest a movement, a plea to be heard and conduct discussions. Sort your shit out people! It annoys the hell outta me that these people have taken a Just cause and did it a disservice by fraternising with fascists, anarchists and the like with extreme often violent ideologies and for turning the occupation into some kind of carnival town… its sickening.

But how does this occupation end, people are wondering, my thoughts probably like the Canadian ones , with significant Police force, hundreds of arrests, batons, tasers maybe pepper spray of some kind, this is how it will end Ugly, Violent and Sad if things continue the way they are going.

General Citizens are also becoming angry with the occupations and the disruptions its causing their every day life. Different sectors of society are calling for tougher enforcements, High Schools & Universities, Workers Unions, Health Workers, Student Associations, Singer Songwriters, Indigenous Tribes the list continues to grow..

It needs to End

A stronger more organized group needs to take charge of what seems like unrelated political rabble, construct proper legally binding dialogue with police and government.

As for the growing anger towards the protesters it must be directed elsewhere and not allowed to bolster the sentiment that police brutality in any form is okay.

Going into the Future Absolute Unity is not feasible nor what we should desire. A Vanguard of Private Citizens must come together to support the dissolution of this occupation, for there are many who do not want these people speaking for them who are okay with how things are going may even support the rules and their voices are being usurped by these extremist groups who are better at using social media to spread their narrative, people who disagree with the protesters you must form a Vanguard who will speak out in public against what they are doing to show the nation and the world that these people do not speak for you, that this is not about the People vs the Govt, this is about a portion of society opposing the rest of society.

To Dam up a River is to create a lake

A Lake poisoned by disinformation, fear, loss and hate

Let us build a resilience to these foreign aversions for the Home that We wish to create

Our Freedom is not the same as their Freedom

Our Freedom is egalitarian our Freedom is Family

“Uncle you are so stubborn i don’t understand how you can turn against us all for this crusade, i don’t get it at all…

Are you so far from reason that Grandad and your children even no longer have sway in your heart?”

“Come back to us..”
